                                                             Couture Comfort

Roberto Cavalli brings his signature opulence and animal prints to the master bedroom of his Tuscan villa. Pieces from Cavalli’s extensive art collection are reflected in the 19th-century gilt-wood mirror, which doubles as a headboard. The bed is adorned with a glamorous scarlet and zebra silk duvet cover and a patchwork fur throw—both adding exotic touches.

                                                                    Overnight Sensation

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s laid-back Bridgehampton master bedroom mixes crisp white walls, bedding, and curtains with colorful accessories, including an aqua Christopher Spitzmiller lamp and apple-green vintage armchairs. Designer Eric Hughes grounded the room with a sisal rug and hung grommeted IKEA curtain panels for a relaxed, beachy feel.

                                                                  Wake-Up Call

Designer Jonathan Adler and Barneys New York creative director Simon Doonan’s Palm Beach pad is as vibrant as its stylish owners. The master bedroom shines with a Paul Evans chrome bed and a giant silver dollar replica found at a thrift shop—not to mention the megawatt walls painted in Benjamin Moore’s Bold Yellow.
                                                            All-American Style

The master bedroom of legendary designer Ralph Lauren’s Montauk getaway is a tropical escape, complete with rattan furnishings and breezy curtains that hang from a custom-made teak tester bed. The floor lamp and Scott Madras cotton bed curtains are by Ralph Lauren Home.

                                                                  Worldly Mix

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo enlisted designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard to create a well-traveled look for her Hollywood Hills bedroom. Pompeo found the bed at one of her favorite Parisian stores, Caravane Chambre 19, and accessorized it with an antique Egyptian wall hanging, Moroccan-style brass lamps, an Indian throw, and 1950s West African pillows from Hollywood at Home.

                                                                   Italian Accent

Known for her over-the top, exuberant style, Donatella Versace’s Milan bedroom is an eclectic—yet surprisingly restrained—combination of classic and modern. The grand space features a metal bed by Julian Schnabel, a black lacquer side table by Versace Home and Giorgio de Chirico’s painting Il Grande Metafisico.

                                                                  Bedtime Story

The rest of her apartment exudes dramatic glamour, but Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell made an exception with her bedroom—using muted tones and understated furnishings. The bed is dressed with an antique suzani, the rug is by Madeline Weinrib, and the painting is Dutchman’s Dawn II by Ellen Kozak.

                                                                  The Big Sleep

The light-filled master bedroom of Meg Ryan’s home on Martha’s Vineyard is all about ease. Vintage linens, simple lighting, and a barnstyle sliding door create a rustic feel. The custom-made bed and trunk were designed by Marsha Russell of Satinwood and made by Herrick & White , and the sconce is by O’Lampia Studio.

                                                                Beauty Sleep

Model Cindy Crawford enlisted decorator Michael S. Smith to design the Malibu home she shares with husband Rande Gerber. The master bedroom combines traditional elements—a tufted chaise longue, dark woods, and a stone fireplace—with eclectic touches like Moroccan rugs and an embroidered bedcover, resulting in a sophisticated, yet comfortable space.

                                                                  Bright to Bed

With the help from her designer sister, Suzanne Coleman Bancroft, Jennifer Creel created a mix of bright textiles in her energetic Manhattan master bedroom. The bed features a headboard upholstered in an Osborne & Little fabric and crisp red-trimmed sheets by Leontine Linens. The charcoal drawing is by Robert De Niro Sr.

                                                                    Bucolic Bunk

Flea market veteran and designer John Derian filled his New York City apartment with an array of well-worn finds creating a rustic haven on the Lower East Side. The antique iron bed is topped with a quilt from John Derian Co. and a vintage ticking pillow from Paula Rubenstein. Also on display is a sea sponge given to him by his sister, a photograph by David Armstrong, and a curtain made from 1930s French fabric.

                                                                  After Dark

Brian Atwood made sure his Milan bedroom is as chic as the towering stilettos he designs. Anchored by a black accent wall, the space—which was designed by Atwood and Nate Berkus—features an eye-catching Serge Mouille light fixture, a moody painting by Alberto Cira, and bedding by Nate Berkus for HSN.

                                                                  Power Nap

Actress Alexandra Wentworth turned to designer (and old friend) Elizabeth Martin to help her decorate the Washington, D.C., home she shares with Good Morning America cohost George Stephanopoulos. In the master bedroom lively patterns on the armchair and bed pillows add a dose of energy to the room’s subdued neutral palette. The curtain fabric is by Nancy Corzine and the armchair is upholstered in a linen by Raoul Textiles.
                                                                  Far East Ease

Modern architecture meets Eastern antiques in the Manhattan bedroom of fashion designer Josie Natori. The clean-lined space by Calvin Tsao of Tsao & McKown features Tsao’s custom bed with one of Natori’s antique textiles used as a bedcover; another textile is mounted above. The tranquil wall color is Gonn Bianco by Benjamin Moore.
