Neo- Noir Movies / Blade Runner

Uzun zamandır tekrar izlemek istediğim yıllar geçtikçe kültleşen bu film geçenlerde Visiual Culture dersinde kendisinden bahsetmemizle tekrar gündemime geldi. Reklam dünyası tarafından da dikkat çeken Blade Runner 2019 yılının uzak doğu kültürüyle entegre olmuş Los Angeles' ında geçiyor. Film-noir ve bilim-kurguyu birleştiren bir tekno-noir başyapıtı olan film 1982 yılında Ridley Scott' un yönetmenliğinde çekilmiş. Başrollerinde Harrison Ford ( Rick Deckard), Rutger Hauer (Roy Batty), Sean Young (Rachael), Edward James Olmos (Gaff) gibi isimler yer alıyor. Aynı zamanda Philip K. Dick ' in ''Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?'' kitabından uyarlanan yapıtın görüntü yönetmeni de Jordan Cronenweth.

(This cult movie has been mentioned in my Visiual Culture lessons the other day and how i decided to watch it for the second time. The movie takes place in 2019 Los Angeles where has been entegrated with the Far East culture. The movie is a techno-noir masterpiece which was made in 1982, it was directed by Ridley Scott.)

30 yıl öncesinden öngörülen geleceği dev firmaların domine ettiği filmde kullanılan mimari, ışıklandırma ve gölge aynı zamanda karanlık, tozlu ve umutsuz bir atmosfer çiziyor.

(The movie is about the predicted future in 30 years and it's about the big brands ruling the world. The architecturaldesigns, lightining, darkness and dusty enviroment imposes a hopless future.)

 Replicant adı verilen androidlerin avlanması üzerine gelişen olaylarda avcı Harrison Ford' un femme fatale replicant  Rachel' la yakınlaşması ve sevgilisi Pris' i öldürmesiyle  Nexus 6 ' lerin lideri Roy' la olan düşündürücü mücadelesi işleniyor. Çok fazla detaya girmeden filmin bir çok değişik açıdan ele alınabileceğini ve hala üzerinde tartışmalara sebep olacak handikaplarla dolu olduğunu söyleyebilirim.

(Harrison Ford is a hunter who tracks down the androids called Replicants. The movie revolves around the hunter who gets very close with a femme fatale replicant Rachel and kills Roy's girlfriend Pris. Without getting into details i can tell you the movie can be critised from a few diffrenet angles.)

A Single Man by Tom Ford

İzlediğim yüzlerce filmin arasından kendisini asla unutturmayan ve her izleyişimde farklı detaylarla büyülendiğim bir başyapıt Tom Ford' un A Single Man'i..  Christopher Isherwood' un kitabından uyarlanan filmde Tom Ford'un sanatçı kişiliği o kadar çok hissediliyor ki, çirkin herhangi bir şey asla göremiyorsunuz. Herşey güzel, estetik ve  adeta cennetten çıkmış gibi kusursuz. Bu filmi izlerken kendinizi sinematografik açıdan nirvanaya ulaşmış sayabilirsiniz.

(A Single Man by Tom Ford is one of the best movies i've ever seen, it's magnificent and unforgettable. Every time i see the same movie i realise another fascinating detail about it. While you're watching the movie which is based on a Christopher Isherwood's book, you feel that Tom Ford is a real 'artist' as every single scene is a piece of art. Everything about this movie is aesthetic and perfect like it has been touch by someone from heaven. You reach cinematographic nirvana while you are watching the movie.)

Film 1960'larda Amerika'da yaşayan İngiliz Profesör George Higgins' in (Colin Firth) 16 yıldır beraber olduğu hayat arkadaşı Jim'i trafik kazasında (Matthew Goode) kaybedişini ve bu acıyla başa çıkmaya çalışırken yaşadığı yalnızlık, boşluk ve çelişkilerini anlatıyor.

(The movie is about a British professor George Higgins (Colin Firth), who lives in US thru 1960s, His partner of 16 years, Jim (Matthew Goode) dies in a car accident and the movie is all about him dealing with this pain, the emptiness it comes with it and the paradox that caused by his loneliness.)

 Bu dönemde Profesör Higgins' e arkadaşı Charley ( Julianne Moore) destek oluyor.  Profesör Higgins'in hayatına öğrencilerinden Kenny (Nicholas Hoult) ' nin dahil olmasıyla ilginç olaylar gerçekleşiyor.

(During this period of pain George gets a lot of suppert from his  friend Charley (Julianne Moore). Everything becomes more interesting when one of his students Kenny (Nicholas Hoult) gets involved with professor's life.)

 Ayrıca filmin zengin bir aforizma kaynağı ve eşsiz bir moda rehberi olduğunu da söyleyebilirim.

(Also i can say that the movie has a strong source of aphorism and it's a unique  fashion guide.)

Colin Firth bu filmden sonra artık başrol oyuncusu olduğu mesajını adeta bütün dünyaya veriyor. Julianne Moore' un canlandırdığı histerik Charley karakteri ise gerçekten daha iyi olamazdı.

(It's absolutely clear with this movie that Colin Firth is a brillant leading actor who is acknowledged by the whole film industry. Also Julianne Moore acting is the hysterical friend Charleyis a magnificent performance.)

Özellikle Charley' nin evinde geçen sahnelerde iki usta oyuncu da inanılmaz.

(Especially the scenes took place at Charley's house, absolutely fantastic.)

Filmin sinematografisinde beni en çok büyülen renklerin Profesör Higgins' in ruh haline göre bir canlanıp bir solmasıydı. Buna dikkat ederek izlemenizi tavsiye ederim. Bu anlamda görüntü yönetmeni Eduard Grau kusursuz bir şaheser yaratmış.

(I suggest you pay extra attention to the cinematography of this film. Iwas fascinated by the work of  Eduard Grau ( director of photography) as the colours fade according to Gerorge's emotional state.)
